Laura Marie McGill-Ida was born in June of 1959.She was the loving daughter of Daniel and Margaret McGill. Adored sister of Danny and Joseph. She was the devoted wife of Rocco Ida whom she deeply loved and cherished as did he. She was a loving mother of Meghan, Caroline and her little boy Patrick, born only three weeks before her death.
Her death was sudden and unexpected.I will never forget the haunting song of "Think of Laura", being played at her wake. It was as if it was written for her.The sight of her in a casket as her two little girls stood by her, while her loving husband was holding their brand new baby will never leave my mind.It was almost surreal.
Laura was one of the loveliest people to ever walk this earth. She never gossiped, or spoke an unkind word about anyone. Anyone who really knew Laura loved her deeply. She was a faithful follower of "OUR LORD" JESUS CHRIST.
She was a talented artist and substituted teaching at her daughters' school. She was very close to her brothers Danny and Joseph, and a loving daughter to her parents Margaret and Danny. Laura and her mother enjoyed a very close relationship and spoke every day.She is missed everyday by those of us who knew her. I am proud to have called her cousin. We love and miss you Laura. Please kiss my Mom and Dad for me. I love you.

Think of Laura By Christopher Cross
Every once in a while I'd see her smile
And she'd turn my day around
A girl with those eyes
Could stare through the lies
And see what your heart was saying
Think of Laura but laugh don't cry
I know she'd want it that way
When you think of Laura laugh don't cry
I know she'd want it that way
A friend of a friend
A friend to the end
That's the kind of girl she was
Taken away so young
Taken away without a warning
I know you and you're here
In every day we live
I know her and she's here
I can feel her when I sing
Hey Laura, where are you now
Are you far away from here
I don't think so
I think you're here
Taking our tears away
