SON, BROTHER, BROTHER IN-Law, GRANDSON, GREAT-GRANDSON, UNCLE, NEPHEW, COUSIN AND FRIEND
CAUSE OF DEATH: GUNSHOT WOUND TO THE BACK
HAROLD was known as LITTLE HAROLD to his family, a few referred to him as TRIPLE, his friends called him HAROLD or to some he was HARRY.
HAROLD RAY REEVES III was born in Pontiac St Joseph Hospital, Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan on Oct. 29, 1976, at 1:14 a.m. The son of Linda Jean (Harris) and Harold Ray Reeves Jr. At the time of his death he was a Junior at the Au Gres Sims High School. He loved hunting & fishing and most of all working on his car. He has a sister Shawna Kay (Reeves), A brother in-law Joel, two nephews Kaleb and (Kristofer, who was born after he passed) and a niece Kelsey. Grandparents Norwood and Vera Harris, and Betty Reeves. A Great-Grandfather, Homer Reeves of Kentucky. His grandfather, Harold Reeves I passed away in 1987. Also surviving him are several Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends. Harold would have been 17 years old in one week, he passed away on Fri. afternoon Oct. 22, 1993, at 4:14 p.m. from a gunshot wound to the back, that was ruled accidental, in AuGres, Michigan and is buried in the Sims/Whitney Cemetery, AuGres, Arenac County, Michigan. The death certificate says he died in Standish, Michigan (Arenac Co.).
Great-grandparents, Emma Irene (Jones) and Hartley McLeod Sr., Norwood and Minnie Helen (Bohne) Harris Sr., Hazel Faye (Gardner) Reeves, Myrtle (Smith, Ragan) Michael and Orville Grant Ragan.
My son Harold was loved by all that touched his life. He liked to play jokes and make you laugh. He was a very Happy Child and had a special little grin that many people commented about after he had passed. He loved being an Uncle, especially playing Peekaboo with Kaleb. Harold's young life ended way to soon, as he was called Home to Heaven on Oct. 22, 1993. He dreamed of being an Auto Mechanic like his Dad and Grandfather had been. He was a student at the Bay/Arenac Skill Center in Bay City, where he was studing to be a mechanic. He also loved the outdoors.
Harold is pictured with his car that he was so proud of. This is the car that he was working on in the Rousseau Apts., parking lot when he was shot to death, from the upstairs bedroom apt. window as he stood in front of his car. The 22 yr. old man, who shot him, ran after the shooting and there was a 12 hr. manhunt for him. Two weeks later there was a plea deal made with him and he was charged with Illegal Discharge of a Firearm Causing Injury or Death. He was sentenced to one yr. in the Arenac Co. jail. He was released on work release during this time and he was out for good behavior in approx. 6 mos. He also was placed on probation.
My life forever changed that day, along with it came heartache and pain. I arrived home from work and found my son shot to death, lying on the sidewalk. There was one person with Harold, he had seen what happened and was trying to help him. It seemed like it took the ambulance forever to arrive. I did CPR on Harold and helped in the back of the ambulance on the way to the hospital but it was to late.....I miss him so much, as well as his other family members but we all know he has a Special Place In Heaven and one day we will all be together again. I LOVE, my son, Harold, so very much and always will, forever and ever.

Harold, loved to go mushroom hunting with his family, each Spring. He is pictured with the mushrooms that he found in May of 1993 with his Grandpa Harris. They found these in the woods at Cadillac, Mich.
The photo "Harry" was painted on one of the students car windows on Graduation night "1995".
The photo with the wood plaque, was made and signed by Harold's, Friends and Classmates and left on his grave shortly after he passed.
The Rock was painted, In Loving Memory of Harold, by his High School Class the night of what should have been Harold's Graduation from AuGres Sims High School, AuGres, Mich.

Harold's grave is located at the far end of the cemetery, he's along US 23 the last set of headstones along the road before you get to Bessinger Rd. Right in the corner where the fence comes together.
