Bill Stackhouse was married to Nona Bryant (my aunt). They lived in Canton, Ohio for most of their married life. In 1961, they moved to Hollywood, Florida. He died there in a boating accident.
Uncle Bill and Aunt Nona were very special people in my life. I was only 5 when he died, but I know he was a generous man. They bought our (my brother, sister & me) first and only swing set and roller skates and loved us just like we were their kids.
Nona is buried in Kentucky by her sister and father.
Added October 7, 2007. I found my uncle's memory card today. My mother had placed his obituary from the Canton newspaper in it, but with no indication of the date or title of paper. The obituary:

Wilbur L. Stackhouse, 49, formerly of 3813 10th Street SW, died Saturday in Holy Cross Hospital at Fort Lauderdale, Florida of complications following a boating mishap.
Mr. Stackhouse had gone to Florida a month ago to live. He formerly was manager of the meat department of an A&P Supermarket at 5th Street and Cleveland Avenue N and the former Hughes Provision in the Arcade Market. Before going to Florida, he was with Stoll's IGA.
He is survived by his widow, Nona Stackhouse; a sister, Miss Helen Stackhouse of Canton; and a brother, James E. Stackhouse of North Canton.
Calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Monday. Services will be there at 1 pm Tuesday with burial in North Lawn Cemetery.

"The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart." - Psalm 34:18.
My Aunt Nona missed her Bill until the day she died. Even with her memory failing, she always remembered him. She'd show me his picture when I visited and tell me she missed him and longed to see him. It's sad that they are not buried in the same cemetery, but where their remains are doesn't really matter. It's where their souls are now. I'm sure Bill's soul was soaring when his Nona finally arrived.
Added February 2, 2008 - Today I received an email with a note that Lundy and Maud Stackhouse are buried close to my Uncle Bill. I'd never been able to find him in the census record before because I did not know his parents' names. Lundy and Maud Stackhouse were his parents. His father died in 1936 and knowing that explains a lot about why they settled in Ohio. It was obviously to help care for Uncle Bill's mother. She passed away in 1959. It must have been shortly after that they began to plan their eventual move to Florida.
