Mrs. Dan Trigg, 52, of Salmon, died Friday afternoon at a Palestine hospital from burns suffered when her home was partially burned last week.
Fire was caused when a mixture of kerosene and gasoline poured in a stove exploded, drenching the kitchen of the home in flames. Two occupants of the room managed to escape through the flame-enclosed door, but Mrs. Trigg, most severely burned, was rendered helpless. Her son, Hayden Trigg, managed to dash through the fire and pull his mother out the window, suffering severe burns himself.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Guiceland cemetery with Rev. Felix Tarbett of Palestine officiating, assisted by Rev. Edgar Murdock of Grapeland.
Survivors are her husband, Dan Trigg; two sons, Archie and Hayden, both of Salmon; three daughters, Mrs. Alton (Lois) Morehead, and Louise and Lanell Trigg, all of Salmon; a brother, Ray Wells of Salmon; two sisters, Mrs. Edgar (Zelma) Dunnam of Grapeland, and Mrs. Ola Gaines of Salmon; and a grandchild.
