Ethel Janakes lost her battle with leukemia on January 13, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Despo Pantoleon, and her sister Christina. Ethel is survived by her beloved husband, Nicholas, and was the loving mother to, James (Carol) Janakes and Diane (Paul) Janakes-Zasada. She leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Reid, Joseph Janakes, and Anthony Zasada. Ethel was also the great-grandmother to, Rebecca Reid and Caleb, Braden and Ashby Janakes. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Ethel was a devoted member of the Daughters of Penelope since 1939. She loved her Daughters of Penelope Sisters as though they were her family.

A Trisagion will be offered for family and friends on Thursday, June 20, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 999 Brotherhood Way, San Francisco, and the Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. also at Holy Trinity Church.
