Buddy was a mixed breed dog who was a pet of my wife and granddaughter. He managed to escape off of his leash and ran off. He was later hit by a car. Before we could get him, the state highway department picked him up after a phone call from a neighbor. Buddy had been rescued from an animal shelter.
