Frances L. Lane, age 73, of Fruitland Park, Florida passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 surrounded by her family. Frances was born in Leesburg, Florida on August 15, 1941. She was blessed to be part of a large family of eight: 5 sisters and 2 brothers - where her caring and maternal nature was instilled. She graduated from Leesburg High School, class of 1959. In her adult life, she was a homemaker, and then later in life began working for the School Board of Lake County as a bookkeeper at Carver Middle School. After retiring, she and john, her husband of 41 years, were able to focus on the things that were dearest to them: gardening, playing music, and being surrounded by family. Frances loved working in her yard and sharing time with old friends. But her greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her happiest moments were spent with them, whether it was playing in the front yard or being their biggest fan at the fall field, where she was known as "Baseball Nana!" Frances was preceded in death by her husband John H. Lane. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Sharpe, son, David Shank, and stepdaughter Nancy Moreland; six grandchildren, Christina Butts, John Daniel Aspinwall, Summer Shank, Harrison Sharpe, Brian Shank and Dottie Pratt. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren - Braten, Brady and Blayke Butts, J.D. Aspinwall, Layton Collins, Malachi Sharpe, Waylon Shank, Gracie and Logan Pratt; and many other loved ones. The devotion Frances had for The Lord spilled over into her daily life. She loved unconditionally and had an uncanny ability to always be present in the lives of those she loved. She was a pillar of strength, an anchor for her family. Although she has passed from this earth, her legacy of love and virtuous ways will continue through the generations, she taught them so well. Her memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 11:00 at Heritage Community Church in Fruitland Park, Florida. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory, Lady Lake, Florida.
