She was a Protestant. She was active with religious programs for the inmates. Survivors: husband, Ronald; daughter, Kathy Cunningham, Pascagoula, Miss., Cynthia Brock, Jackson, Miss.; mother Mable Sumner, Leesburg; sisters, Melba Leggett, Leesburg, Jewell Corvell, Leesburg; brother, H.W. Sumner, Dade City; three grandchildren. Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg."
Laverne was a graduate of Leesburg High School, Leesburg, FL.
