Martin Luther said "If you're not allowed to laugh in heaven, I don't want to go there." Kenny Orme went to laugh with his heavenly father on January 17th following a long battle with cancer. He came into this world on Sept. 26th 1941 in Leesburg Fl. and was big brother to Freddy, Charles "Butch" and Jackie. Following high school graduation he served in the United States Navy for 4 years during which time he married the love of his life, Shirley. The automobile business brought him, Shirley and their two boys to Ocala in 1969 and shortly after he became a hearing aid specialist and owner/proprietor of Ocala Hearing Aid Center.
Ken was a member of the Leesburg Jaycees, Ocala Elks Club and the Bonita Club in Yankeetown where he pursued a passion for the outdoors and fishing with his family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing, trips to North Carolina and cruising with friends. He was a man of strong faith and was devoted to Fort King Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder, on various committees and belting out hymns every Sunday as a choir member.
Kenny will greet his loved ones in heaven someday including his loving wife of 50 years, Shirley, sons Robbie (wife Traci) and Kevin (Theresa) and the joys of his heart, his grandchildren, Jessie (Wessie), Hayleigh (Boo), Hannah (Banana), Sarah (Bear) and Austin (from Boston).
A celebration of life will be held Wed. Jan 25th at 2:00 at Fort King Presbyterian Church, Ocala.
In lieu of flowers a contribution to the memorial garden fund at Fort King Presbyterian Church can be made and mailed to the church at 13 NE 36th Ave. Ocala, Fl 34470 in his honor.
