Jensenia "Jay" Vaughn Barnes, of Walterboro, passed from this life on the evening of October 25, 2013, after complications from a fall.

Mrs. Barnes was born in Illinois June 20, 1915 a daughter of the late Harry and Stella Drinkwater Vaughn.

Jay worked in the S.C. Public School System and was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Walterboro. She was also a devoted cat "mom" to her two fur babies, whom she loved with all her might.

She is survived by a half-sister, June Green; nephew Marvin "Fritz" Trull (Margie); two nieces, Patsy King (Joe) and Susan Trull; and two step-daughters, Murdelle Varner and Mary Jo Kinard.

Funeral services will be held October 28, 2013, at 10:00 in the Bethel United Methodist Church. Committal services will be held at 4:00 in the Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC. The family will receive friends the 27th from 5-7 PM.
