The following is Chris' obituary.
Christopher Duran Senior was born in Valparaiso, Florida on March 19, 1956; the family moved to Texas in 1957. He always said he got to Texas as quickly as he could! He is the son of Samuel B. and Dolores (Warren) Senior.
Chris married Cynthia B. Ethridge on April 16, 1977 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Austin, Texas.
Chris was active in his church; he was an altar server in his youth, an acolyte at St. Helen's Catholic Church in Georgetown, where he also became a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was very proud of his time as a Hutto City Councilman. He moved into Hutto and was recruited by the then Mayor, Edmund Schmidt, within the first month of moving into our subdivision. He served on the council for 8 years.
Chris worked at the Texas Department of Public Safety as a Security Specialist for 13 years before he retired.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and making things out of wood.
He was a very loving person to his family and friends.
He was also very fond of animals.
Chris is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cindi; his daughter, Crystal and son, Clayton; his grandchildren, Morgan, Hailee, Brianna and Leland; and by his mother Dolores.
Services will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hutto @ 1:45pm.
