Services were held at 9:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15,2010, at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Mamie T. Coggin Bland of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Bland, 88, died Monday, October 11, 2010 at Artesia General Hospital in Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Bland was born April 18, 1922 in Ranger, Texas; the daughter of Ira C. Coggin and Icy (Maupin) Coggin.

On Sept. 28, 1940 she was married to James B. Bland in Dexter, NM. She came to Artesia in 1957 from Roswell, NM. He preceded her in death August 1977.

She was a salesperson for Montgomery Wards, Sears, Maupins True Value, B&B Newstand, and an Avon Representative. She was a member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ.

She was also preceded in death by her parents. a sister Doris Wilson, brother-in-law Bill Wilson, and great-grandchild Samantha Matthews.

Survivors include daughters Linda Scott and husband Jimmy of Artesia, and Marcia Spain and husband Ervin of Clyde, Texas; sister Marie Maes and husband Bob of Santa Fe, N.M.; grandchildren Richard Reynolds, Janie Reynolds Schneider, Rebecca Scott-Deeds, Natalie Forsythe, Teresa Zeigler, Don Spain and Kathy Smith; 14 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.
