Brian, 28 yrs old of Evergreen Park. He was a Homewood, Illinois firefighter. He passed away at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest after battling a house fire and attempting to rescue an elderly man.

Brian had worked for Homewood as a part-time firefighter before getting sworn in on Feb. 9, 2010 to a full-time post with the department.

Brian graduated from college with a journalism degree, He graduated from Brother Rice in 1999 and from Lorus College in Dubuque, Iowa in 2003. He was born and raised in Evergreen Park, Illinois.
