Despite the valiant efforts of the various EMS & Fire agencies in Stafford County, the helicopter crew, and the staff at the trauma center in Fairfax, Jessica died from the traumatic injuries she received in the line of duty. She is remembered on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial (West Wall, Panel 30, Line 22). She was survived by her parents, sister, officers in arms, fellow rescue squad members and countless friends.
