Marse Alec is Dead

Caddo folks were saddened Wednesday afternoon when the news spread that T.A. Alexander had died at his home on Russell Street.
The funeral was held at two o'clock at the Methodist Church yesterday afternoon, burial in Caddo Cemetery.

Marse Alec, as he was familiarly known, was 77 years of age last Sunday, is survived by his wife and one son,one daughter Molly Cooper. He was a good man; recently had professed religion and joined the Methodist Church. But he was a good man long before that.

His days were filled with good deeds. Never did the needy come to him in vain. He never had much of this world's goods, but people had confidence in him, and when he asked for a contribution for some unfortunate it was always given to him.

Time after time his friends elected him constable - which office he held until his death.

Everyone liked Marse Alec. He was a friend to all. As a peace officer he was kindly and considerate, always tried to show the wrongdoer the error of his way.

Yes, a good man is gone, but his spirit will still survive. The spirit of friendly sevice is not dead.
Rev. M.A. Cassidy, his pastor conducted the funeral.
