NORRIDGEWOCK - Diane Judith Blake, 60, died on June 4, 2016, five days before her 61st birthday, at Northland Living Center in Jackman, where she was a resident since October of 2011. Diane was born in Skowhegan on June 9, 1955, the daughter of the late Ralph Blake of Norridgewock and Edith (Baird) Blake. Diane attended the Mary Holland School, and later the Lorna Dill Center for handicapped children and adults for more than 50 years. Diane was very active in Maine Special Olympics and participated in swimming, basketball, track and field, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, golf, and equestrian events. She loved music and attended most dances held at the Dill Center in Skowhegan.She loved her family and was a very happy person. She was predeceased by her father, Ralph Blake, in 2003; and brother and sister-in-law Bruce and Donna (Quinn) Blake in 2014. She is survived by her mother, Edith (Baird) Blake; a sister Donna (Blake) Mickewich and her husband Tom of Manchester; niece Melissa (Mickewich) Emerson and her husband Ronald Emerson, their son Ryan Emerson; nephew Timothy Blake, wife Heidi Blake and their two sons Jasper and Liam Blake; niece Janna (Blake) Mellon, her husband Michael and their children Haley, Hannah, and Hayden Mellon; and several cousins, aunts and uncles. There will be no viewing hours. A graveside service will be held at the Sunset View Cemetery, Mercer Rd. (Route 2), Norridgewock. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial donations to: Maine Special Olympics, 125 John Roberts Rd. #19, South Portland, ME 04106, or: Northland Living Center, 382 Main Street, Jackman, ME 04945.
