Ruth Marie Clark, 87, of Gerry, NY and formerly of Sheffield , PA died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, surrounded by her family in the home of her daughter at 4795 Route 60, Gerry.
A native of Shippenville, Pa., she was born Jan. 29, 1929, a daughter of the late Russell and Dorothy Delo Colwell.
She was a 1947 graduate of Shippenville High School.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Warren County School District as a cafeteria manager at Sheffield High School.
Prior to moving to this area, she was an active member of Sheffield United Methodist Church participating in several of the ministries of the church.
Surviving are three children: William (Linda) Clark of Quinton, Va., Susan (Robert) Verbosky, with whom she made her home and Thomas (Diane) Clark of Clarendon, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Bryan Clark, David (Christine) Clark, Heather Nolan, Jennifer (Dean) Vailancourt, Bradley (Christy) Verbosky, Melissa Highhouse and Holly (Greg) Stephen; 18 great grandchildren; and two brother: James (Louise) Colwell and Harold (Georgian) Colwell.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Clark, whom she married April 15, 1948, and who died Aug. 13, 2008; a brother, Samuel Colwell; and two sisters: Lois Colwell and Louise Bunch.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Bemus Point United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Sheffield Cemetery.
