Dora L. "Dolly" Clawson, 84, of Blairsville, died Monday, April 13, 2009 at her home. She was born Sept. 26, 1924 in Blairsville, a daughter of the late Thomas C. and Josephine (D'Amico) Calabrese. A 1942 graduate of Blairsville High School, Dolly was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church, serving as president of the Hopewell United Methodist Women and was also chairman and a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church Administration Board. She was also a member of the Blairsville Italian Ladies Auxiliary and served many years on the Blacklick Township Board of Elections. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She is survived by two daughters, Karen D. Smith and husband Donald, Blairsville, and Nancy J. Clawson and husband Ken Vaughan, Chicago, Ill.; a son, Todd R. and wife Kimberly, Blairsville; a sister-in-law, Josephine Calabrese, Blairsville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Todd R. Clawson; a daughter, Linda A. Clawson; and brothers Mario, Thomas, Emidio and Joseph Calabrese. Friends were received Wednesday at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Blairsville. A funeral service was held Thursday at the Hopewell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Horace Derr officating. Interment was in the Blairsville Cemetery.
