Linda Diana Schwerdtfeger, daughter of Phil and the late Bonnie Dell (Olson) Prigmore, was born November 19, 1946, at Hardtner, Kansas, and passed away December 27, 2005, at Kiowa, Kansas, at the age of 59 years, 1 month, and 8 days.

Linda attended school in Oklahoma City and was in the first graduating class of Carl Albert High School. She attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University. On October 7, 1964, she was united in marriage to Larry Riley. To this union two children were born, Lenice and Dawn. Larry was killed in Vietnam in May, 1968.

On August 7, 1970, she was united in marriage to Clifford Schwerdtfeger at Capron. To this union one son, Kyle, was born. She worked at Wal-Mart for 18 years and was the manager of several departments, including the Photo Lab, which was her last assignment.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Alva. She enjoyed all sports, but especially liked watching her grandchildren play ball. She loved her job at Wal-Mart.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Prigmore.

Linda is survived by her husband, Clifford, of Capron; her father, Phil Prigmore of Alva; two sons, Kyle Schwerdtfeger and his wife, Kerri, of Kinder, Louisiana, and Brian Schwerdtfeger and his wife, Rita, of Cherokee; and three daughters, Dawn Shafer and her husband, Clint, of Freedom, Lenice Padgett and her husband, Bob, of Rose Hill, Kansas, and Jeanette Brattin and her husband, Craig, of Kiowa, Kansas.

Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren, Meagan, Brennon and McKayla Shafer of Freedom, Joshua and Jacob Haydon, and Lauren, Morgan, and Hunter Padgett of Rose Hill, Kansas, Tate, Karli, and Hannah Schwerdtfeger of Kinder, Louisiana, Charley and Joey Brattin of Kiowa, Kansas, Ashley Arnold of Chicago, Illinois, Kolby Arnold and Austin Guffy of Cherokee; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2005, at the Alva First United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Martindale and Rev. Elizabeth Kirkwood officiating. Interment will be in the Capron Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Kiowa Hospital.
