Robert Earl Loftin, 47, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, died in the early morning hours Sunday, October 4, 1998, from a heart attack while sleeping on his sailboat in Texas. Bob was born October 24, 1950 in Oklahoma City to Boyd and Lois E. Loftin. He graduated from Carl Albert High School in 1968 and was a successful businessman and owner of Loftin Carpet Center in Oklahoma City. Bob is survived by his long time companion and friend, Vickie Miller; two daughters, Michelle Moore from Moore, Oklahoma and Cecily Loftin-Land and husband Doug Land from Edmond; two grandsons Casey and Seth Moore from Moore, Oklahoma; one granddaughter Alex Land from Edmond, Oklahoma; his mother Lois E. Loftin from Midwest City, Oklahoma; three brothers William T. Loftin and his wife Paula from Springdale, Arkansas; Daniel B. Loftin and his wife Leslie from Midwest City, Oklahoma; Brian N. Loftin and his wife Susan from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one sister Rebecca L. Middleton and her husband Ken from Centerville, Ohio; a host of nieces and nephews; as well as his collie named Sampson. Bob's happiness and joy revolved around sailing his boat, riding his Harley, and being with his family. Bob has touched many lives during his journey on earth, he taught us to love life and live each day to the fullest. He was loved.
