He has the distinction of being the first baby born in the Covina hospital. He attended Glendora schools and participated in Tennis, Football, and Basketball at Citrus Union High School. His hobbies were photography and model train building. Following graduation in 1941 he enlisted in the Navy and was sent to San Diego Naval training station in Point Loma. Upon completion, he was assigned to Opa-Locka, Florida for advanced training as a Pharmacist First Mate. After completing training, he shipped out of San Francisco for duty in the Pacific. He was aboard the USS Miller Destroyer DD-535 when Iwo Jima was attacked, and witnessed the aftermath of Pearl Harbor during his time at sea. He was released from the Navy in 1945 and married Ethel Louise Sears. He worked briefly for the Pacific Electric Railway as a Clerk before accepting an entry level position with the Southern California Edison Company in 1946. He was employed with the Edison company in Los Angeles, Glendora, and Covina for 38 years, retiring as a General Manager. Glenn was very active in the community. He was a member of the Intercommunity Medical Center Board, a member of the Azusa Parks and Recreation Commission, President of both the Glendora and Azusa Chamber of Commerces. He was elected to the Citrus Community College Board of Trustees and served for twelve years. He was a Mason, and was involved with Little League, Azusa High School Athletic and Band Boosters. He played golf weekly for many years. He and Louise enjoyed wine tasting trips with friends, attending Edison annual meetings, and USS Miller reunions. At home he liked to garden, work on stained glass projects Louise designed, house projects, and watching UCLA basketball and Dodger baseball. He especially enjoyed family activities and gatherings.
