CORTLAND – Services for Aaron Breeds, 89, of West Homer Hill, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Briggs Funeral Home, with the Rev. Egbert P. Fountain, pastor of East Baptist Church, Summerhill officiating.
Mr. Breeds, a farmer here most of his life, died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ethel Marquis, of Freeville.
Born Dec. 4, 1875, in Cranbrook, England, he came to the United States when he was 18 years old.
Mr. Breeds was a member of Cortlandville Grange for more than 50 years and a member of the East Baptist Church of Summerhill.
Surviving are two sons, Henry Breeds of Summerhill and Chester A. Breeds of Cortland; three daughters, Mrs. Marquis, Mrs. Lillian Vossler of Preble and Mrs. Mildred Darling of West Homer; three brothers, Henry of Cortland, Frank of Cato and James Breeds of Moravia; two sisters, Miss Alma Breeds of Homer and Mrs. Lily Whatman of Ithaca; 25 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be in the West Homer Cemetery.
