Daughter of Samuel Sloan Shields and Carrie Gibbons Shields. She married Burl Ruble Byerley before 1920. In the late 1940s she was the owner or manager of the Spencer Support Shop (corsets) on 249 Eagen St. near St. Mary's Hospital in Walla Walla. Their children included Louis E., Carolyn May, Richard Charles, and Doris Jean Byerley. She married Floyd Coffman on December 25, 1954; they had no children together.
