CLAYTON, Robert Leslie was born February 19, 1929 to Georgia May James Clayton and Leslie Meyers Clayton in Geneva, New York.

He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 10, 2017. He will now join his wife of almost 62 years, Patricia Clayton and first born Robert Leslie Clayton Jr. "Pippy."

Robert served his country proudly in the US Army. He graduated from the Montana School of Mines in Butte, Montana with a degree in Geological Engineering. He worked for DuPont, Pima Mines, Cypress Mines (sic Cyprus) and Golf (sic Gulf) Oil before forming his own consulting company PIPSOD Resources.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid jogger and tennis player.

He is survived by his children, Terry (Virginia Cordova), Jennifer Odom (David), Janine Irvin (Mark) and his granddaughters, Ashley Birmingham (Heath), Kelly Odom, Maggie Cordova and his great-granddaughter, Riley Birmingham. He did many 50 mile hikes with the Boy Scouts.

He was a loving husband and father and he will be missed very much. Thank you for the wonderful memories and the footprints on our hearts. "Where there is a will, there is a way."

Special thanks for all the kindness from the extraordinary staff at Solterra La Cholla and Casa de la Luz Hospice.

The family is having a private service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Boys and Girls Club of Tucson or The Humane Society of Southern Arizona. Love and peace Dad, we will always love and remember you.
