He founded Klausen's Hardware which had stores in Mission, KS and Lenexa. He retired from the business and spent time taking care of the family home making upgrades and repairs. A stroke disabled him in 1996 where he spent three years in diminishing health before his eventual death in 1999.
Louis loved his family and enjoyed fishing as a hobby. He was buried alongside his sister Helen and his parents. He will be missed forever.
