Josie's last born grandson, my father, Rod Brightwell, was to get married on September 18, 1971 to my mother. On Monday, September 13, 1971, my mom had her bridal shower. Her and my paternal grandmother, Roberta Brightwell, visited Josie in Bethel Home that day, all dressed up (with corsages) from the bridal shower. Josie believed that they had already gotten married and, believing that her last born grandson was already happily married, she died later that day. She was holding on simply for that news. On Wednesday, September 15, 1971, she was buried and my father was one of her pall bearers. On Saturday, September 18, 1971, my father married my mother. They are still happily married.
