The following information is from a book written by his wife,M.B. Peters, published in 2005.

THE AMERICAN DOCTOR OF MO CAY

S/Sgt Peters was like many of his breatheran of the Vietnam War, caring, considerate liberators who were loved by the vetnamese people. While being part of a large group of soldiers to serve his country proudly, he was also part of a group of men and woman who made the ultimate sacrifice trying to bring the freedom we take for granted to people he had never met.

S/Sgt Laurence V Peters died as a result of a land mine April 20, 1966. He was 33 years old and left a wife and three children-9, 8 and 2 1/2 yrs. He was a true American Hero and representative of those sent over to Vietnam by the Untied States. More importantly, those soldiers are STARK CONTRAST to those soldiers repesented in John Kerry's account.

These letters from the front line to his wife are in his own words.

WE MUST REMEMBER THE GOOD OUR TROOPS DO AND GIVE THEM SUPPORT WHEN THEY COME HOME WHEN THEY COME HOME FROM IRAQ.

".I arrived in MoCay...it is like going back to 1620"

"Being over here makes you realize two things..a..time goes by and you can never make it up ... b..life is short so make it as full as possible."

"Do you know what happened to the soap you sent?? 14 people got sick eating it...we had clean people... HA HA"

...all the showers at the hospital are complete. I have had 12 kids fitted for corrective braces, 9 kids had plastic surgery for cleft palate, and 3 girls went to Saigon for facial surgery for napalm burns"

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE AMERICAN DOCTOR OF MOCAY

"I could not put it down and finished at 5:30 am once I started to read the book....."
Mark Emanuel...radio host in Pennsylvania

"I finished reading it at 3:30 am. It had a profound effect on me. It caused me to pray more..."
Delores Levesque..Oregon

"deeply moving book about the Vietnam War as experienced by a medic..."
Barbara Birenbaum, editor and publisher, Florida
