Funeral services for Wilson Colbert were held on Dec. 14 at the Slininger Chapel with the Rev. Clinton B. Meininger, pastor of the Central Christian Church in Jefferson, officiating.

Mrs. Eldon Kinsman was at the organ. Wendell Wright sang two hymns. Casketbearers were Charles Miller, Lewis Pierson, Jefferey Miller, Mike Kendall, Bernie Skann and Donald Helmore.

Interment was in the Coon Rapids cemetery.
Wilson Colbert, son of Jesse and Mary McDonald Colbert was born January 5, 1885, in Audubon County, Iowa. He was raised near Coon Rapids, where he continued to make his home until the time of his marriage.

On May 1, 1903 he was united in marriage to Jennie Hutton. They were the parents of seven children. The couple made their home in Audubon and Carroll Counties. Mr. Colbert was preceded in death by his wife in 1959 and for the last ten years has made his home in Jefferson.

Mr. Colbert passed away December 11, 1966, at the Greene County Hospital, Jefferson, at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 6 days. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and two sons: Willie, who died in infancy and Sgt. Willard, who died in 1946.

He is survived by his children: Nettie (Mrs. Lewis Pierson) Des Moines, Sarah (Mrs. Guy Wight) of Jefferson, Gail Colbert of Eureka, Calif., Fern (Mrs. Bruce Skarin) of Kiron and Mrs. Amanda Helmore of Seaside, Calif., 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
