DIXMONT and FRANKFORT Eleanor Elizabeth (Shorey) Orcutt, 87, passed away peacefully, April 26, 2005, with her family, at her home in Frankfort.

She was born May 15, 1917, in Newburgh, the daughter of Melvin T. and Lucy M. (Littlefield) Shorey Sr.

Eleanor was a very active woman who enjoyed her family, the outdoors life, planting, animals and crocheting.

She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother by her five children, Jack McKay and his wife, Nancy, of Frankfort, Edward Orcutt and Dee, of Hampden, Betty Dyer and her husband, Richard, of Winterport, Beverly Norton of Holden and Larry Orcutt and Catherine, of Prospect; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leroy B. Orcutt, in 1972; a sister, Vertie Morse; two brothers, Hershel and Edward Shorey; one grandchild, Doreen Orcutt and one great-grandchild, Abigal Marsters.

Visiting hours will be held, 3-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden.

A graveside service at Pilgrim's Home Cemetery, Monroe, will be announced at a later date.
