Nellie Miller Moon was the daughter of Henry Washington Miller & Mary Jane Kellett. She married Bub Moon on 10 February 1916 in Greenville County, SC.

Mrs. Nellie M. Moon

Mrs. Nellie Miller Moon, resident of Paris Mountain, died yesterday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock at a local hospital following six days illness. News of her death comes as a shock to her many friends.

Mrs. Moon has spent most of her life in Greenville County, but was born and reared in Spartanburg. She was the daughter of Mrs. Mary J. Miller and the late Henry W. Miller.

Surviving are her husband, Bub Moon; three daughters, Misses Dorothy, Mary and Betty Moon, and three sons, John, Luther Ray and William Henry Moon, all of Paris Mountain. Her mother, Mrs, Mary J. Miller of Kings Mountain, N.C. also survives together with two sisters, Mrs. O.J. Welch, Kings Mountain; Mrs. W.G. Henson, Greenville, and four brothers, L.W. Miller, Kings Mountain; J.P. Miller , Tucapau; D.M. Miller and G.L. Miller, of Greenville.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed and will be announced later from the offices of the Thomas McAfee funeral home.

Mrs. Nellie Moon

Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Miller Moon, who died Wednesday afternoon at a local hospital following a few days illness, will be held from Mountain Creek Baptist church this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The Rev. Paul Beacham will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. J.N. Wrenn, after which interment will be made in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Earl Green, J.H.Batson, Fred C. Greer, W.A. Norris, Lawrence Welch, and Raymond Mallard.

Honorary pallbearers : Dr. J.E. Shaw, Dr. Algie E. Brown, Dr. Thomas G. Goldsmith, E.L. Wilson, E.C. Haskell, L.L. Echols, C.A. Batson, Ira B. Lever, and W.B. Pollard, Jr.

Mrs. Moon was a native of Spartanburg and a daughter of Mrs. Mary J. Miller and the late Henry W. Miller. She had spent most of her life in Greenville, the family residence being on Paris Mountain.

Pending the hour of the service the body is at the residence.
