Brett Paul Allison was born in St. Anthony, a son of Jimmie L. and Sally Thompson Allison, and died at his home in Idaho Falls following a valiant fight with cancer. Raised in Ashton, he is an alumnus of North Fremont High School, Class of 1984, Ricks College, Utah State University, graduating cum laude and Willamette University with a juris doctorate degree, Class of 1995. In the Logan LDS Temple, he married Nannette Hoggan of Rexburg Oct 8, 1988. Together they have four children - Mitchell, 14, Abigail, 11, Connor, 8, and Joshua, 5. Divorced, their relationship has remained amicable. An active member of the LDS Church, he servied a mission to Bunenos Aires North, Argentina Mission and served as a counselor in the bishopric of the Pocatello LDS 12th Ward. His employment includes a Public Defender in Bannock County, Jones Chartered Law Offices, Maguire and Kress Law office, in Pocatello; Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Bingham county; Bonneville County Prosecuting and Public Defender's Offices in Idaho Falls. He was in private practice at Allison-Barrett Law Offices in Idaho Falls at the time of his death. His work as a lawyer was appreciated and respected by his colleagues and clients alike. In Sacramento, California on March 18, 2004, he married June Carroll. They remained close friends even though they were not married at the time of his death. Brett enjoyed fatherhood and activities with his children, making a special effort to spend one-on-one time with each of them. They enjoyed trips to see the Jazz play basketball in Sat Lake City and a trip to Seattle, Washington. He will be remember for a wonderful sense of humor; it was not difficult to laugh and be cheered by Brett. Enjoyng watching and participating in most sports, especially basketball and golf. At times his "attorney mentality" would appear and he would could engage in a good debate. His character was kind and good-hearted towards all, especially the underdog. Preceding him in death are his grandparents - Jim and Sarah Allison and Ray and Margaret Thompson; and his father, Jimmie L. Allison. Survivoring family members are his children: Mitchell, Abby, Connor and Josh Allison; his mother: Sally (Wayne) Jones; siblings: Jimmie (Carma)Allison, Julie Allison, David (Kathy) Allison and Paige (Robert) Hall; step-children: Jonathan, Jenna, and Julia Carroll.
