Suggested edit: He died of disease at the General Hospital at Adams Run, SC the day before his 18th birthday
Suggested edit: Military service can be confirmed in his Compiled Service Record (CSR). The Company Muster Roll (CMR) dated 12 DEC 1861 says he was in Co. A 16th South Carolina Volunteer Infantry on 12 DEC 1861. The MAY/JUN 1862 CMR says he enlisted 25 NOV1861 at Camp Hampton by COL J S Preston for 12 months service and was Present. The JUL/AUG 1862 CMR says he was paid by Capt. Mason to 30 JUN1862 and that he died 30 JUL 1862 at the General Hospital at Adams Run, SC. He was a Private in rank. If all this information is correct, we can say he died two days before his 18th birthday,
