He attended Keith Junior High and was a brakeman on the Pittsburgh Division Railroad.

He enlisted Dec. 27, 1943, and reenlisted April, 1948.

He was killed in hostile fire in Korea July 20, 1950, but was not identified until several years later.

Axe Funeral Home handled the military funeral, with interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.

Notes: Corporal Humerick was a member of the 3rd Engineer Combat Battalion 24th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy near Taejon, South Korea on July 20, 1950. Corporal Humerick was awarded:
1. The Purple Heart,
2. The Korean Service Medal,
3. The United Nations Service Medal,
4. The National Defense Service Medal and
5. The Korean War Service Medal.
