KILLED BY TROLLEY CAR.
John Frank, Well-Known Hollidaysburg Man, Run Down at Brush Run Bridge, Near the Ant Hills.
Mr. John Frank, a well known Hollidaysburg blacksmith, and a resident of Walnut street, was struck by Logan Valley car No. 159 and instantly killed last evening at 8 o'clock at the Brush run bridge, near Ant Hills.
The car was coming to Hollidaysburg and was in charge of Conductor Carl Bloom and Motorman Martin Shay. The victim of the unfortunate accident was either sitting or lying on the rail. It was raining heavily and the rain drops on the window obscured the motorman's view until it was too late to stop the car. The unfortunate man was struck
on the side of the head, and the car wheels passed over his right leg below and above the knee. The remains were placed on board the car and brought to the undertaking rooms of T. B. McFarland.
The deceased formerly resided in Williamsburg, but has been a resident of Hollidaysburg for more than thirty years, and has followed the occupation of a blacksmith. He was a veteran of the civil war and is aged 61 or 62 years.(Born around 1839)*
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Metz Frank, and these children: Mrs. Susan Eckard, of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. May McGraw, Mrs. Nora Ditch and Mrs. Leroy Beegle, all of Altoona, and Edward, of Hollidaysburg. Two sisters, Hal and Rebecca, of Philadelphia, and one brother, Joseph,of Altoona, also survive him.

The funeral services of the late John Frank will be held at the residence on Walnut street, this afternoon at 2.30. Interment will be made in the Presbyterian cemetery.
