Jim Hardy, age 68 passed away at home in Taylorsville, UT on December 16, 2014 from lung cancer. He was born January 8, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Sidney and Dorothy Balich Hardy.Jim loved life and people, and was very generous with his time to help others. One of his favorite past times was visiting with friends and family on the phone. Those daily conversations will be greatly missed. He was happiest outdoors. He enjoyed boating, hunting and fishing for many years before making trap shooting his passion. He served as the president of Magna Gun Club for the past 21 years until his death. He appreciated the support he received, and the enjoyment his wife and children showed with their involvement in Magna Gun Club. He was proud of the many improvements he had made at the gun club. Jim's dedication and hard work will be enjoyed by trap shooters for many years to come. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Jim honorably served his country in the United State Army in the artillery division, completing his service in Vietnam in 1966. He worked for Kennecott Copper in the Magna and Arthur mills for 17 years and at Hill Air Force base as a civilian employee in aircraft maintenance for 25 years, before retiring in 2008. Jim is survived by Beverly Morrison Hardy, his wife of 35 years. He is also survived by his children, John Nunley (Britta), Sydney Hardy of Tempe, AZ, David Hardy (Dana); his grandchildren Nick, Hunter, Abby, Landon, and Tyler; sister Helen Mitchell of Clay City, IN. Preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Monday Dec. 22, 11:00 am at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. West Jordan Utah, where viewings will be held Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and Monday prior to services 10:00 to 11:00 am.
