Robert Harry Goser, 72, of Taos, Missouri, died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Robert was born May 31, 1929, in Jefferson City, the son of Harry and Myrtle Francis (Wunderli) Goser. He married Delma Jean Kinnaman, in Lincoln, Missouri, on November 3, 1954. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Robert Lyle Goser of Fulton, Missouri, two daughters, Medina L. Brewer of North Bend, Washington and Melina M. McCarthy of Jefferson City, a sister, Mary L. Petey of Jefferson City, two grandchildren, Cassandra E. Goser and Jennifer L. McMurray and a great-granddaughter, Makayla Marie McMurray.

Mr. Goser was a 1947 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Arts from Central Missouri State University in 1952, a Master of Science in Education from Central Missouri State University in 1961 and a Master of Science in Guidance and Counseling from Lincoln University in 1971.

He was a teacher for the Lincoln R-1 School District for nine years, a teacher at Pasco High School in Kansas City, Missouri for six years and a teacher, counseler and Director of Vocational, Technacal and Adult Education for the Jefferson City Public Schools for twenty-one years, serving aas the first director of the Nichols Career Center from 1974 to 1988. He was also a police officer with the Jefferson City Police Department and was the City Marshall in Lincoln.

Robert was a member of the National Education Association, Missouri National Education Association, Missouri State Teachers Association, American Vocational Association, National Association of Secondary School Principals, National, Missouri and Cole County Retired Teachers Association and American Association of Retired Persons and was a citizen volunteer at the Jefferson City Police Department.

Services are at 10:30am, Wednesday, at the St. John Lutheran Church at Schubert, Missouri, with Reverend Gerald Scheperle officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetary. Visitation is from 4-8pm today at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors in Jefferson City.

Memorials are suggested to the St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund.
