Major League Baseball Player. Although he played at third base and shortstop, his primary position was second base. During his nine years in the majors he played for four teams: the Cincinnati Reds (1934 to 1938), New York Giants (1938 to 1939), Brooklyn Dodgers (1941 to 1943), and finished with the Washington Senators (1943). He had a batting average of .243 with 45 home runs and 284 runs batted in. He is believed to be the first major league ballplayer of Greek descent.
