Major League Baseball Player. He was a center fielder for four teams in six years in the major leagues. Jones broke in with the Boston Americans in 1901. He then played for the Chicago White Sox (1904), Washington Senators (1905 to 1907), and finished with the St. Louis Browns (1908). In 1,799 total plate appearances he batted a modest .233 with 141 runs batted in.
