Rev.Patrick Fogarty was the son of Irish immigrants Bridget Wall and James Fogarty. He was born in Mill Creek near Pottsville, Schuylkill County, PA.and was one of eleven children. He studied at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary and was ordained a priest by Archbishop Ryan in 1886. His first appointment was to St. Patrick's Parish in Pottsville, PA. He also served at St. Ambrose in Schuylkill Haven. In addition he had pastorates in Doylestown and Tacony and Olney sections of Philadelphia which were St.Leo's and Incarnation and a few other parishes in Philadelphia.. When he passed away he was rector of Holy Angels R.C. Church in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia.He was also known to have a large Irish Setter with him in the Rectory which he called"Pony"note:Rev.Patrick also made at least one or two trips to Ireland one with his sister Jane or Jennie and Uncle Rev.Lawrence Wall.
