Probably born in New York, Ephraim was the eldest son of William Church (Sr). Ephraim married Polly Owens in Richland Co. Ohio on Nov. 2, 1817. The two markers are placed back to back and are likely footstones, while the headstone is in another location at the cemetery. The insriptions read; 'E. Church' and 'M. Church' (M. Church is his wife, Mary (Owens) Church). His Will, dated August 6, 1835, was probated in Richland Co. Ohio on Nov. 16, 1836 by his brother-in-law Samuel Gibeney and mentions 6 children: Chester, Freeman, Mary(reportedly later married to a man named Sams), Elizabeth(who later married Salanthiel Thomas in Indiana), Enos, and Ephraim. His will left monies to purchase land for his two youngest sons Enos and Ephraim. Ephraim was the brother of my 3-grts. grandmother Pool. Information received indicates that burials in this section of the cemetery were moved from an older cemetery.
