William Charles Veit Jr., 79, New Albany, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany. A native of New Albany, he was the son of the late William C. Sr. and Helen Rossfeld Veit. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a retired salesman for Graham Paper Co., the retired owner of the old Floyd-Lion Printing Co. and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen S. Veit, and a brother, Robert Veit.
Survivors include five sons, William L. and Richard Veit, both of New Albany, Charles and Thomas Veit, both of Corydon, and John Veit of Tallahassee, Fla.; a daughter, Kathryn Dilks of Tallahassee, Fla.; a sister, Barbara Notman of Tecumseh, Mich.; and seven grandchildren. Visitation: Tuesday, June 26, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany. Funeral Mass: Wednesday, June 27, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, both in New Albany.
