Husband of, Ellender Parker Dyer.
Son of, Dr, Robert H. Dyer & Kevern Happauck Ervin Dyer.
Spill B. Dryer, was born in Tennessee, and named after his grandfather, Spilsby Dyer. The Dyer Family arrived in Walker Co., Georgia in 1847, finally settling where the Battle of Chickamauga was fought. Spill B. Dyer was 33 when the War Between the States began in 1861. He enlisted - September 17, 1861. Service = 2nd Lieutenant, Co. H, 37th Tennessee, Infantry - Confederate...Spill B. Dyer, was in the Chickamauga Battle and because of his familiarity with the territory he became General Bragg's personal courier.

The Dyer Family, farm land was the site of much of the fighting between the Confederate & Union armies. When the U. S. government made the decision to make a National Park which included the Dryer farm land, that the Battle of Chickamauga was fought, the Dyer Family sold their land to the government, and moved south of Chickamauga.
