MONTANA MAN VIET CASUALTY;
Mitchell Roberts Anderson, 19, son of Mrs. Dorothy Kimball, Miles City, was killed July 20 in Vietnam. He was born in Miles City and known as Mitchell Roberts. He attended rural and city schools and in 1956 went to Kalispell to live with Mr. and Mrs. Lester Anderson. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in Twin Bridges. He had visited his mother in Miles City last year. Survivors also include his father, Wilburn Roberts of Selah, Wash.; a brother, Allen Roberts, Selah; a sister, Lucille Roberts, Seattle; and five half brothers and sisters in Miles City.

Mitchell Roberts Anderson, 19, son of Mrs. Dorothy Kimball of 1415 N. Daly, was killed July 20 in Vietnam, according to word received here by his mother. He was serving in the U.S. Marines as a gunner. No details were available as to the exact location or circumstances of his death. Known here as Mitchell Roberts, he was born in Miles City, and attended local schools and also the Trail Creek and Spring Creek rural schools. In 1956 he went to Kalispell to live with Mr. and Mrs. Lester Anderson. He enlisted at Twin Bridges. He had visited in Miles City last summer with his mother, the first time she had seen him in eight years. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his father, Wilburn Roberts of Selah, Wash.; a brother, Allen Roberts of Selah; a sister, Lucille Roberts of Seattle; and five half brothers and sisters, Cerie, Charles, Cathy, John and Cindy; ranging in age from 13 years to 21 months. His stepfather, Charles Kimball, died in 1963.

At a Company defensive perimeter, near Qui Nhon, Binh Dinh Province, LCpl Anderson and PFC Salinas were returning to the friendly lines, they were mistake for the enemy and a Marine on watch opened fire on the approaching men from his defensive position. Both men were killed by the friendly small arms fire. Known here as Mitchell Roberts, he was born in Miles City, and attended local schools and also the Trail Creek and Spring Creek rural schools.
