Timothy arrived in Vietnam 28 February 1969 and was assigned to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.
Charlie Company was on a patrol when Timothy detonated a hostile booby trap mine, 3 kilometers west southwest of Hill 55 and was med-evac for treatment of his wounds. Timothy
died of his wounds 1 December 1969 while receiving medical treatment aboard the US Naval Hospital Ship USS Repose, as a result of multiple fragmentation wounds that he sustained 30 November 1969.
Survived by his father, Kelly L Achison of 3313 54th Ave SE, Portland and his mother; Irene Butler of 2111 Madison St SE, Portland, Oregon.
