Robert Paul Highfield, 58, 47 Oak St., Lindale, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday in a Rome hospital following a short illness. Mr. Highfield was born in Floyd County, June 20, 1925, son of the late B.F. and Annie Coheley Highfield.

He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church, a veteran, and was employed by Pet Bakery. Survivors include his widow, the former Imogene Nichols. Lindale: two daughters, Mrs. Paulette Gowan, Lindale, Mrs. Jean Clark, Gainesville; three sons, Bradley Highfield, Gainesville, Jacky Highfield,
Oakwood, Joe Highfield, Lindale; one sister, Miss Lillie Highfield, Baton Rouge, La.; three brothers, James Highfield, Birmingham, Ala.: Jessie Highfield, Cartersville, Donald Highfield, Fla.; 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Thursday from the Henderson Frazier Chapel with the Revs. John Crowe and Larry Burgess officiating.
Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will include James Tanner, Jack Hanners, Ed Nichols, Jimmy Earwood, Mike Barker and Tony Nichols
