EDWARDS, CLU, WILLIAM TAYLOR, "BILL" Died 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, 1988, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. He was 78, a native of Cairo, Ga., and resident of Baton Rouge more than 50 years. He was a retired Ethyl Corp. employee, with 20 years service, and a Mutual of New York CLU.

Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 8 a.m. Wednesday. Religious services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Hugh Floyd. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Survived by wife, Lillie Highfield Edwards; a daughter, Billie Ann Richardson, Mobile, Ala.; a son, J. Robert "Bob" Edwards, Baton Rouge; a brother, Robert W. Edwards, Mountain View, Calif.; and five grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; and two brothers, E. Neel Edwards and E. Waldo Edwards.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Ethyl Management Club, Louisiana Association of Life Underwriters and National Association of Life Underwriters.
