Her father died when she was 10 years old. Her mother was forced to put her in an orphanage. Found her on the 1910 census in the orphanage.
Lela met Morris when she was in the TB Sanitarium in Denver, CO. They married 14 Jun 1904 in Denver. Served Lela with divorce papers in Colorado on 12/2/1913. Lela was pregnant with Helen at the time. Divorced 10/2/1916, Denver, Denver Co, CO.-File #56710-Custody of Harold,11, and Bessie,6, awarded to Morris Taub. Not permitted to marry for 1 year.
She married 2 more times and reconciled with her mother in California. Married 2nd Frank Barnett, married 3rd Montie Kay. She is my maternal grandmother.
