Brenda Witt BURLINGTON - Brenda Williams Witt, 66, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. She was a native of Charlotte and the wife of 46 years to Charles "Chuck" Witt who survives. Brenda was a homemaker and member of Grove Park Baptist Church. She loved working with the Special Ed Sunday school class at her church and serving in the nursery. She had a deep love for children especially her grandchildren. Her children fondly remember her as an avid shopper even while undergoing cancer treatments. Brenda was very devoted to her family and she knew how to make everyone feel special. She is survived by her husband, Charles Thomas "Chuck" Witt of the home; daughters, Julie Anne Witt-Bogart and husband, Jason, Karen Denise Witt-Auth and husband, Josh and Patricia Lynn Witt; grandchildren, Jordan, Jazmine, Joshua and Jaxon Bogart, Aaron and Alex Auth and Faith Hayes; brothers, Bobby "Bud" Williams, Norman Williams and wife, Jackie Griffin Williams; sisters, Martha Gray Huffingham and husband, Irving "Huffy" Huffingham and Linda Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Lillie Mae Taylor Williams; granddaughter, Jenna Peyton Bogart; sister, Anita Williams Griffin and husband, Henry "Dub" Griffin and sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Lib" Williams. The family would like to thank the 3rd and 4th floor Oncology nurses and staff at UNC for their exceptional care and compassion for Brenda during her illness. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at 2:30 pm at Grove Park Baptist Church by Rev. David Morton and Rev. Irving Huffingham. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 pm prior to the service in the church and a gathering will follow the service in the church gymnasium. The family will be at the home of Jason and Julie Bogart at other times.
