Survived by his wife of 17 years, Nancy M. Rhodes , who loved him very much.
Mr. Rhodes was born October 19, 1932 to the late Charles Rhodes and Bessie Morris Rhodes .
Bobby was a self-employed contractor and also served his country in the navy during the Korean War.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Bobby will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2000 at Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill, NC officiated by Heritage Funeral Home.
Mr. Rhodes is also survived by four children, Bobby Rhodes , Jr., Sue Smith, Gary Rhodes and Nelson Rhodes ; two step-children, Lee Padgett and Cyndi Pender; fourteen grandchildren: Angela, Wanda and Marvin Jr, Bill, Lisa, Kelly and Kathy-Lee, Amy, Amanda and Robbie, Chris, Aubrey, Tyler and Gary Jr; nine great grandchildren, Timmy, Logan, Jonathan, Seth, Alizah, Grace, Olivia, Billy-Joe, and Devin; four brothers, Jack, Cecil, Charlie and Franklin 'Rocky' Rhodes all of Charlotte; two sisters, Julia and Donna.
Memorials may be made in remembrance to Bobby to Harris Hospice at Presbyterian Hospital or to Bible Presbyterian Church of Charlotte.
Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home.
