Murder Victim. Silvina Raquel Pelosso along with Carole Sund and Juli Sund were on a vacation to visit the Yosemite National Park in the Sierra Nevada of California. Carole and Juli Sund were from Eureka, California and Silvina Pelosso was an exchange student from Argentina. After many days of searching Carole and Silvina were found in the trunk of a burned car on March 21, 1999. The body of Juli Sund was found later on March 25, 1999 near Lake Don Pedro, in Mariposa County, California. On July 26, 1999, Cary Stayner was arrested for their murders, as well as for the July 21, 1999 murder of Joie Ruth Armstrong. He received the death penalty.
